Jean Fritz is a delightful, award-winning, children's author. These nine biographies date from the 1970's, but they are timeless. They're written for young people age 9-12, but even older readers will learn a great deal by reading them. Her subjects were the outstanding leaders of the colonies, and she's done marvelous work in researching their lives and making them 3-dimensional human beings.
